NIST is the agency responsible for measurement and standards, and on AI it has set out a framework for managing risk. That agency is buying, from outside, engagement with standards bodies and support for the framework.

Standards work does not end with drafting a document. It means joining the discussions of the bodies involved, following what moves, organising the content and carrying it back. Even the side that sets the baseline needs to procure hands for that process, and this record is what that looks like.
